Summer 2010 ECO 201 Principles of Microeconomics (3 units)

Course Description
This class covers economic analysis of the theory of prices, including supply and demand, marginal utility, cost and revenue concepts, market structure and pricing of the factors of production. Students learn to use economic principles to analyze the economic challenges facing individual and business organizations.
Required Prerequisite: MTH 56 or Algebra II with a grade of C or better
Instructor Recommended: Satisfactory completion of, or simultaneous enrollment in, GDN 124 “Becoming a Successful Online Student”

In lieu of a physical text, the Aplia-Mankiw e-text and registration card combo package is “highly” recommended at an estimated total cost of $80.00
- Estimated Time per Week: Students can expect to spend approximately 12 to 15 hours per week in Aplia drill work, reading, writing, and online class discussions.
- Special Requirements: Please email the instructor as soon as you sign up for class for important course syllabus information. Plan to log into Etudes and Aplia the first day of class (Monday, 6/21).

- Additional Comments: The entire course will be conducted online through the Etudes and Aplia programs. Students must have reliable daily Internet access, an active email account, the ability to use word processing and have the ability to send and receive emails.
