Course Description

Learn about the physical, mental, social and emotional development of children from birth through adolescence. Discuss the major theories about how children learn. Develop skill in observing children’s behavior.

  • Estimated Time per Week: Students can expect to spend approximately 8 to 10 hours per week reading, writing, and taking quizzes and participating in online class discussions.
  • Special Requirements: Log into Etudes the first day of class (1/21).
  • Assignments & Tests:  chapter tests, midterm and final, discussion questions, culture definition, elements of culture, culture paper, rite of passage paper 
  • Additional Comments: The entire course will be conducted online through the Etudes program. Students are required to have Internet access, an active email account, the ability to use word processing, conduct Internet searches, attach files, send emails, and work independently.
