Course Description

This course will explore the nature, functions, and importance of marketing. Topics covered will include consumer behavior, pricing, product development, market research, distribution, and elements of promotion such as public relations, advertising, direct mail, personal selling, and marketing on the Internet.

  • Estimated Time per Week: Students can expect to spend approximately 6 to 8 hours per week reading, writing, and taking quizzes and participating in online class discussions.
  • Special Requirements: Email the instructor after you sign up for the class. Log into Etudes the first day of class (8/18).
  • Assignments & Tests: On-line lecture, discussion, and case studies.  Students are expected to have read the material in the assigned chapters and on-line resources and be prepared to respond to assigned questions and participate in on-line forums.  Late assignments and make-up exams will be offered only in the event of extenuating circumstances.
  • Additional Comments: The entire course will be conducted online through the Etudes program. Students are required to have Internet access, an active email account, the ability to use word processing, conduct Internet searches, attach files, send emails, and work independently.
