Practical Experience

Students in Child Development benefit from practical, hands on experience with young children.

Mendocino College offers a series of lab classes that provide the opportunity to link textbook learning to real life classrooms. Students moving through CDV 111, 112 and 113 learn to carefully observe children, to plan appropriate activities and to manage the group dynamics in a classroom.

Students may participate in the on campus Child Development Center (link) or work with Mentor Teachers in community programs.
